About the event

Grief is a part of life. This fact is something we know cognitively to be true, but is also something we hold physically, and is inevitably woven into all aspects of our being. This six-session course will explore the ways in which grief impacts both the personal and professional spheres of our lives. The two are intertwined, each influencing the other through our daily experiences with loss.

Whether you are feeling the weight of loss through death, effects of the pandemic over time, and/or unmet professional expectations as a birth worker, writing may provide you with a path toward healing. Using concepts introduced in “The Healing Tree: A Guidebook for Navigating Grief,” each 2-hour session will include an opportunity to learn about grief, to write about your experiences, to connect with other birth professionals, and practice simple mindfulness-based exercises to use for yourself and/or with clients.

Register here Tickets are $78 per person. Partially and fully funded tickets available for BIPOC birthworkers email Jessica@heartofhoustonbirth.com for more info. Earlybird discount $20 off registration before midnight Sunday, 4/3/22.
